School's out for August

And so are we as we take a one month break from custom content. But don’t let that fool you! We’re hard at work kicking off the second year of InspirED Michigan -- working to change the conversation about public schools by telling the stories of hope, creativity and innovation occurring every day in Michigan’s public schools. This month, we're sharing with readers a couple of our top-read stories from our first year at InspirED Michigan.
Good news about public education is all around us in stories about:
- Kids finding opportunity.
- Adults going the distance.
- Systems adapting to changing times.
Upcoming InspirED Michigan themes include:
October -- The Arts
How are schools integrating the arts in today’s world? What community partnerships are enriching their efforts? What role does technology play? How are districts protecting funding or finding new ways to expand arts instruction to more students? What’s new in Michigan’s school arts programs? What is the connection between school arts programs and careers in the arts?
November -- Students with disabilities
How are schools serving students with disabilities? What creative solutions are they finding to meet this growing group of students? What difference do factors like district size, location, or demographics make? Who plays a role in helping students with disabilities learn and grow? How are we equipping these students for their future roles and citizens and workers? How does technology contribute to student success?
